update - we have garden!

A few weeks ago cam and i biked up to the garden and discovered that it looked like this:

and last weekend - building weekend... it looked something like this (!!!)

On "building day" i could not resist the urge to plant... so some garlic, leeks, onions, broccoli and rosemary (for luck) found their way into the ground.  I also guerrilla planted along the fence (i hate the fence)... a row of red runner beans, a row of sweet pea., and hummingbird loving wild flowers.

cam, as always a dream, was handy with the level - our bed is perfect...

and yesterday - this is what the garden looked like:

and now we are *very* excited!!!

absent

it has been a while... i have been absent.

ifyou are out there… but if you are, my sincere apologies.
i am sad to report that the garden is still a garden-in-waiting. as it is a new site it sill needs to be cleared of some left over detritus... and the city has yet to deliver the soil and compost that will make marking and (!!!) planting possible.

it is all for the best though. those of us who were more than a touch overzealous would likely have planted or hearts out in the delicious spring weather… only to have our hopes of sweet peas and beets dashed but a blustery bit of a pacific storm that brought cold weather and even snow (in the mountains) to temperate vancouver.

and so, like you (if you are there)… i wait. and gaze up at the snowy north shore mountains, dreaming of sunny warm weather, soil and compost.
